When it comes to hospital stays for the arrival of a new baby, I'm an old pro. This was baby number 4 for me (and the last!) - so I was excited when Serena of Annie and Isabel offered me the chance to review their hospital gowns. Especially since I had to have a c-section and new I would be spending several days in the hospital.
A little bit about Annie and Isabel: Created by sisters Anna, an ER nurse and Selena as a ICU nurse, Annie and Isabel features beautiful hospital gowns. After talking with patients during their nursing careers - they found one of their number one complaints were the flimsy, uncomfortable hospital gowns. Anna and Selena saw an opportunity to create a business providing quality gowns that are attractive, comfortable ad most importantly cover you backside. And because the gowns were created by nurses, they feature all of the things the medical staff needs in a gown to treat you.
I love my Annie and Isabel gowns. I wore them before, after and during surgery. The nurses also loved the gowns :) I got so many compliments (probably more for the gowns than the baby!).
What surprised me most about the gown was how much use I have gotten out of it in the weeks since leaving the hospital. I wore my Annie and Isabel gowns at home too. As any mom knows, you walk out the hospital wearing too big maternity clothes - and you are weeks (if not months) away from wearing normal clothes. I found that many of my stretch clothes that I was hanging out around the house in were irritating my c-section scar making it sore and painful. So I got out my gowns and wore them in the weeks of my recovery. My kids called them my baby dresses :)
In addition to being oh so functional - the are so soft and comfortable. And in my opinion, the true test of a piece of clothing is how it holds up after being washed multiple times. My gowns look just as good after going rounds in my washing machine as when I first received them.
I am so grateful to Anna and Selena for sharing their gowns with me. They made a special time in my life even more special.
