Marketmommies:  Tell us about your blog:

Marketmommies:  How did you get started?
Melissa: . I started it with my goal just being to post some good deals I had been finding because lots of friends were asking me to share. I also wanted to keep family updated with stories and pictures of my son.

Marketmommies: What was your biggest learning curve in starting a blog?
Melissa:  Getting people to read my blog! I wasn't sure at all how to get my name out there! I realized the best thing was to just start visiting other blogs!

Marketmommies:  What role has social media played in  your success?
Melissa:  Twitter has been huge! I have connected with so many great people and companies on Twitter! I am still working on Facebook, but I gain about 100 followers a week on Twitter. 

Marketmommies:  Any tips on how moms should use social media to promote their blogs?
Melissa:  Definitely Twitter! I always get disappointed when I find a blog I like doesn't tweet. I feel it is a great way to connect with people who read your blog! 

Marketmommies:  How do you balance your family life with the world of mommy blogging?
Melissa:  I blog during nap time and after my son goes to sleep! My husband is great with my blogging too, he helps me think of posts and is always telling me different things to help with my blog!

Marketmommies:  Tell us about your family.
Melissa:   I have been with my husband for 8 years and married for 4! He is truly my other half, my best friend. I love spending time with him and my 2 year old son. They are my favorite people in the world! We love hanging out together and doing thing all over the city, like going to museums, parks and the Zoo. We are also a big Cardinals Baseball family! 

Marketmommies: Anything else you would like to add?
Melissa:  When visiting other blog, don't be afraid to email the blogger and ask questions! I'm so grateful to other bloggers who have helped me out and I love when I get emails from other bloggers!
