If you would have asked me about 2 years ago what a mommy blogger was, I wouldn't have had a clue. Now, I used mom bloggers to find out about new products, coupons, deals and much more. I don't know where I would be without them! So I thought I would introduce Marketmommies.com readers to a new mom blogger each week in hopes that they can help you too!

Marketmommies: How did you become a Mommy Blogger?
Courtney: We moved from CA to CT a year ago December and by February, I was extremely lonely & bored. I came across an article on Yahoo about Mommy blogging and thought..."I'll give this a try". My husband doubted it at first, but was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. We have learned about SO MANY amazing companies (not just for the kids but for the entire family), products I didn't even know existed (and wish I had years ago) and been able to hopefully make a difference in companies traffic and sales on their website.

Courtney: The One Bored Mommy Blogspot is mainly a product review/giveaway blogspot that offers honest opinions of a mommy who ACTUALLY uses the products we review. We love to take pictures and video blog (vlog) about our experiences with them all. Most of the my blogs offer personal insight into our family and how these products have made a difference for us. I'd consider it a pretty upbeat and positive blogspot!

Marketmommies: Hindsight being 20/20 is there anything you would have done differently in starting your blog? Courtney: Not really! This entire experience has been a rollercoaster of emotions and I am glad that I've gone through every step. This blogspot has truly been a blessing to my family and I hope that the companies I feature feel the same way about being a part of it!
Marketmommies: Any advice for moms trying to get a blog up and running?
Courtney: My main thing would be to remind mommy bloggers to find a topic that they will feel comfortable reviewing products for. Sometimes it takes time to establish readership on your blog & trustworthiness with businesses, so HANG IN THERE.

Courtney: We are a Christian family of 6. Daddy works full time as an Operations Manager at a Power Plant, Mommy stays at home and tends to the house, the kids and the One Bored Mommy Blogspot, we have an 8 year old son, a 6 year old daughter, a 4 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. Our house is full of activity and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Marketmommies: What did you do before you were a mommy blogger?
Courtney: Before I was a mommy, I worked in Staffing and truly feel I have been a natural cheerleader at heart for people & businesses. Since becoming a mommy, I have been blessed to stay at home with all four of the kids, so I have not worked outside of the home.

Marketmommies: Where do you see your blog in a year from now???
Courtney: Who knows what the future holds? I can wish to be one of the TOP mommy blogspots, but only time will tell! Until then, I'll take one review at a time, do the best honest to goodness review I can and help spread the word for businesses that appreciate word of mouth advertising by a "bored" (or not so much) mommy of four kids!
